My parents celebrate their 31st wedding anniversary today.
Imagine being with someone for over 30 years?
No, I can’t either.
They still say, “I love you” on the daily, hold hands, and hug and kiss like the fools they are.
My mom told me the other day that she still gets this overwhelming feeling of excitement every day she comes home to my dad.
My dad tells me all the time that he loves my mom more and more with each passing day, and can’t imagine life without her.
But seriously, how can I live in today’s dating world of app swiping and matching when I witness this real life fairytale everyday of my life?
Answer is: I’m single. Very. Single.
How dare they show me the ins and outs of a healthy and beautiful relationship.
UM, HELLO! A little more dysfunction, please.
“Your dad called me after our first date and I knew he was the one.”
Girl, I can’t even get a text back let alone a “like” on Instagram. Get outta here with your love at first sight bs.
If I’m doing one thing right, it’s frequenting bars. That’s how my parents met. A bar.
My dad was READING A BOOK and he landed my mom. I repeat, HE WAS READING A BOOK IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY TORONTO BAR.
I spend 2 hours on my face and $100 on my outfit, and I’m lucky if a hot dude accidentally spills his drink on me.
“Oh my god, you got me wet!”
“HA, I’m known to do that.”
And that my friends, is modern day romance.
